Frets and Strings: Every horizontal line symbolizes a string corresponding to ukulele. However, these lines appear to be upside down. Tab's topmost line is the string A. It is followed by strings E, C, and G. The numbers appearing on tab tell the player which string is to be played. Not only that, they also suggest the fret at which it should be played. The numbers '4/4' can be ignored for the time being. The number of fret is the number indicated on the string. Open strings can also be played. They are the ones played without fretting any note. They are symbolized by '0'.

Notes sequentially played: When notes are arranged horizontally in tab in a sequential manner, they can be termed as 'sequential notes'.

Chords' Tab: In this system, the writing of all the chords is done in the similar way. Many a times, strumming of chords takes place. This results in arrows in tab.

Rhythm: Information regarding rhythm varies from tab to tab. Certain tabs would not have any indication of rhythm. They would expect the rhythm to come from the listener of the recording. Some of them would provide an indistinct rhythm indication given by note distance. At times, rhythm would be indicated by a standard notation.
